I believe everything happens for a reason and sometimes sarahannedipity feels like something that actually happened to me.
It was started back in 2010 by myself, Sarah (Anne) Moleme, as a way to help me keep my idle hands and mind busy as I struggled with my mental health and wasn’t able to work in a regular job. Making jewellery was a passion of mine from my teenage years. I loved to create one of a kind, custom pieces for myself, friends and family. When I was rendered unable to hold a job and had applied for disability support from the government, I was encouraged to find something to keep me busy, that could also maybe make a bit of income and was good for my health.
sarahannedipity started with church basement sales, then after a brief stint in the Jewellery and Metal Arts Program at Georgian College, it evolved into a regular, weekly, 3 year term at the Orillia Farmers’ Market in beautiful downtown Orillia.
After doing a lot of work on myself and having completed several forms of treatment and therapy, I began to think of turning the business into more of a career.
In November 2017, I opened a modest sized store front on Peter Street, in the local Arts District.
It did so well that only a year later, I re-opened on Mississaga, the main street.
We are not just a jewellery store. We are a community experience. We are a space where you can come to hang out and relax in comfy chairs to read a book about spiritual growth. You can have a piece of custom jewellery made right on the spot or order a special piece made by our goldsmith or from our team of talented jewellery designers. The jewellery we create is often minimal, organic and has that certain something that says it was made with love and by an artist. Each piece is unique and special and filled with love.
Our online store has just started to get some traction and our in-house workshops are becoming quite popular as well. We also offer free meditation weekly.
We have a strong emphasis on helping promote mental wellness and we are currently running a campaign that is supporting local organizations and services in that field.
sarahannedipity would not exist without the support of our amazing, loyal and friendly customers. Our hearts are full with appreciation for you. Thank you for following us on our journey.
We look forward to helping you find or create that perfect something to add to your collection or for that special someone. Or maybe, like sarahannedipity happened to me, it will come to you. After all, I really do believe everything happens for a reason.
Love,
Sarah
