a message from sarah (anne)
I believe everything happens for a reason and sometimes sarahannedipity feels like something that actually happened to me.
It was started back in 2010 by myself, Sarah (Anne) Gelbloom, as a way to help me keep my idle hands and mind busy as I was taking care of my mental health and wasn’t able to work in a regular job. Making jewellery was a passion of mine from my teenage years. I loved to create one of a kind, custom pieces for myself, friends and family. When I was rendered unable to hold a job and had applied for disability support from the government, I was encouraged to find something to keep me busy, that could also maybe make a bit of income and was good for my health.
sarahannedipity started with church basement sales, then after a brief stint in the Jewellery and Metal Arts Program at Georgian College, it evolved into a regular, weekly, 3 year term at the Orillia Farmers Market in beautiful downtown Orillia.
After doing a lot of work on myself and having completed several forms of treatment and therapy, I began to think of turning the business into more of a career.
In November 2017, I opened a modest sized store front on Peter Street, in the local Arts District.
It did so well that only a year later, I re-opened on Mississaga, the main street.
After careful consideration, in May of 2023, I decided to close the store and move into Creative Nomad Studios to allow for a more manageable work load, environment and to focus more on online sales.
sarahannedipity would not exist without the support of our amazing, loyal and friendly customers. Our hearts are full with appreciation for you. Thank you for following us on our journey.
We look forward to helping you find or create that perfect something to add to your collection or for that special someone. Or maybe, like sarahannedipity happened to me, it will come to you. After all, I really do believe everything happens for a reason.
Love,
Sarah
